A little more than a year ago, President Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. President Trump returned to office with a mandate from hardworking American taxpayers: secure the border, rebuild the economy, eliminate woke propaganda from the Department of War, cut taxes, protect American farmers and food security, and put American citizens, not illegal aliens, first.
In just 13 months, President Trump has delivered the most accomplished first year of any president in modern history.
Tonight, President Trump is slated to give his State of the Union address, and it’s going to be filled with mentions of win after win for the American taxpayer.
When I travel across the great state of Alabama, I hear the same thing from hardworking Alabamians: life is improving under President Trump’s leadership. Other states embracing the Trump administration’s “America First” policies are seeing similar results.
Yet the radical left and the mainstream media hate President Trump so much that they don’t want you to see all of the wins President Trump is delivering for the American people. President Trump saw how Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s open-border policies nearly destroyed this country.
Since January 2025, President Trump has secured our borders by enforcing our nation’s immigration laws — what a concept. Thanks to his commitment to protect American families, 2.6 million illegal aliens have already been removed or self-deported. Under the leadership of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Border Czar Tom Homan, and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, our communities are safer. Customs and Border Protection and ICE officers are heroes. They are enforcing our laws and doing what the previous administration refused to do.
After four years of Joe Biden’s bad economic policies that caused prices to skyrocket, the Trump administration has been working tirelessly to lower costs. By restoring American energy production, reining in reckless spending, and bringing back manufacturing jobs, the Trump administration has been working hard to dig us out of a hole.
Perhaps the greatest step towards helping American taxpayers was the passage of the Working Family Tax Cuts last summer. These commonsense tax policies like no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, and no tax on overtime will make a real difference in the lives of millions of Americans.
But there’s still more work to be done. I’m confident that President Trump, America’s CEO, will continue working around the clock to unleash America’s economic potential. President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth have also worked to restore the U.S. military as a strong and lethal fighting force by removing DEI mandates and liberal woke social policies from the military. Secretary Hegseth is focusing once again on merit, readiness, and mission success. For years, our military personnel were subjected to woke propaganda, but that clown show is finally over.
Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, military recruitment numbers skyrocketed in 2025. Under the leadership of Trump and Hegseth, our servicemembers are once again signing up in droves to protect our country from foreign adversaries. Not only is our military stronger than ever, but President Trump is also supporting hardworking American farmers who are the lifeblood of our economy. They feed and fuel the greatest country on earth.
President Trump and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins know that farm security is national security and created a National Farm Security Plan that would secure and protect American farmland from foreign ownership; invest more into key domestic manufacturing sectors; protect the U.S. nutrition safety net from fraud and foreign exploitation; protect critical farm infrastructure, and put America First in every USDA program.
Under President Trump, America’s farmers, ranchers, and producers are no longer forgotten. Food and health policy have also taken center stage under the Trump administration. Under President Trump and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Red Dye No. 3 — which has been linked to cancer — has been
banned from food products.
We are the sickest country in the world, spending $5.7 trillion annually on healthcare while facing high rates of chronic illness and obesity. Since RFK Jr. took over at HHS, companies like Hershey, Kraft, Pepsi, Steak ‘n Shake, and In-N-Out have made meaningful changes to their ingredients.
These are real wins that will greatly improve the lives of millions of Americans. One year in to this administration, President Trump is keeping his promises. The border has been secured. Taxes have been cut. Farmers are receiving support. The military is focused on readiness. Domestic manufacturing is expanding. And my state of Alabama is seeing tangible results — from the return of U.S. Space Command to Huntsville to the thousands of manufacturing jobs coming to our state.
Thanks to President Trump, the country is stronger, safer, and more economically confident than it was a year ago. The State of the Union will be a reminder to all Americans that the best is yet to come in America’s Golden Age under President Donald J. Trump.
